Clean Energy & Climate Resilience
The Center for Impact Finance works at the intersection of clean energy, climate resilience, and community development to help organizations and communities design and finance solutions that are equitable, scalable, and sustainable. Our work focuses on mobilizing capital and building institutional capacity to deliver climate-aligned outcomes. Through applied learning and research, cross-sector convening, and advisory services, we support community lenders, developers, local leaders, and other mission-oriented organizations to accelerate the deployment of clean energy, reduce emissions, and strengthen climate resilience—while ensuring that the benefits of the energy transition reach underserved communities.
Training and Applied Learning
The Center for Impact Finance’s Training and Applied Learning programs equip lenders, developers, and clean energy practitioners with practical skills to advance equitable clean energy and climate solutions. Through cohort-based, hands-on courses, we support lenders in designing green finance products and help developers build credit-ready clean energy projects, while also offering customized, place-based training that moves projects from concept to deployment. Applied Research and Advisory Services
The Center for Impact Finance conducts applied research and evaluation and provides technical assistance and advisory services to support lenders and partners across the community development and clean energy ecosystem, and offers practical guidance on clean energy and climate resilience finance. We translate research into actionable insights and provide targeted advisory support to help strengthen green finance products, align capital with climate and equitable community outcomes, and address market and policy challenges facing real‑world implementation.
Convening and Field Building
The Center for Impact Finance’s clean energy convening and field-building work brings together lenders, developers, policymakers, researchers, and community‑based organizations to strengthen the clean energy finance ecosystem. Through targeted convenings, peer learning forums, and cross‑sector dialogues, we identify best practices, share emerging solutions, and foster collaboration to address financing barriers. Our work helps align policy, capital, and practice—building shared understanding and accelerating equitable clean energy and climate solutions at scale.
