William Siembieda

William Siembieda is Professor and Department Head, City and Regional Planning Department, College of Architecture and Environmental Design California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles and an Economics B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. Areas of research include urban land market analysis, large scale land development and disaster mitigation planning. He conducted extensive research on the impact of public intervention on land markets in México, and served as consultant on secondary mortgage market policy in México, Nicaragua and Brazil. Recent work includes the mitigation and preparedness plan for the metropolitan district of Caracas, Venezuela; and studies of disaster recovery strategies in Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Mexico.
