Geospatial Perspectives on Land Financialization

The Lincoln Institute is seeking proposals for projects that provide use cases for applying landownership classifications to illuminate the implications of corporate landownership on land policy.

Researchers will use the Center for Geospatial Solutions’s Who Owns America® parcel dataset to apply a geospatial lens to study the transformations that occur when land is increasingly enrolled in financial markets. This RFP invites researchers and research teams based at universities, nonprofit organizations (including think tanks and advocacy organizations), or other research entities to propose yearlong projects that will take place throughout the 2027 calendar year. The Lincoln Institute will select one to two teams to receive $30,000 each. Selected teams will work with the Lincoln Institute and the Center for Geospatial Solutions to find ways to use Who Owns America® and other geospatial tools to understand the impacts of new forms of ownership patterns.
