The Lincoln Institute recognizes and embraces the importance of providing accessible learning materials and tools as a fundamental component of its mission. Whether introducing land policy issues to concerned citizens or growing the knowledge base of public and private practitioners, the Institute’s online education offerings exponentially expand the reach and potential impact of our work by providing guided instruction through a highly available medium.
Our self-paced courses cover topics such as planning principles, taxation, climate change, and land use and disputes. A selection of these courses has been approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) for continuing education and professional development credits. Spanish- and Portuguese-language video classes are also available.
Free professor-moderated courses are offered in Spanish and are open for applications two to four times per year (accepting roughly 35 students per course). These two- and four-week intensive courses focus on important land policy concepts as they relate to Latin America, teaching both core concepts and more advanced areas of study.
