Haegi Kwon

Haegi Kwon is a researcher at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, where she focuses on community and economic development, housing, and policy transfer and translation. Her current projects promote equitable economic development in small and midsized cities, advance research to increase housing supply and resilience, and support land policy implementation in US and international cities facing economic and population decline.
As a practitioner, Haegi worked to preserve and rehabilitate affordable housing, expand access to capital for small businesses in low-income communities and for mission-driven organizations, and build capacity in immigrant communities such as New York City’s Chinatown. She has held roles with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), Seedco Financial (now TruFund Financial), and the US Census Bureau, and has consulted for organizations such as the National Immigration Forum. She also teaches at Boston University’s Metropolitan College, drawing on both her research and practice.
Haegi holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MSc from Columbia University, and a BA from Bryn Mawr College.
