Three New Board Members Join the Lincoln Institute

The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy is delighted to announce the addition of three new board members: multimedia designer Adam G. Lincoln, asset supervisor Alex Lincoln, and attorney Cliff Paulin. 

“These three individuals, all members of the Lincoln family, bring a range of experiences that align perfectly with our current work and our commitment to the Lincoln Institute’s mission,” said Kathryn J. Lincoln, chair of the board for the Lincoln Institute. “We look forward to seeing this next generation share their enthusiasm and expertise as we collectively embark on a new era for the organization.” 

Adam G. Lincoln is a freelance designer and consultant specializing in digital design, brand development, marketing, and user experience. Over his 15-plus year career, he has worked with major technology and entertainment companies including Amazon/IMDb, where he led design teams and developed innovative advertising products for nearly every major US and UK movie and television studio, along with major non-endemic brands across technology, automotive, and consumer goods sectors. His work spans web/graphic/motion design, video productions, and contemporary AI-integrated creative workflows. Mr. Lincoln also serves as vice president of the Lincoln Family Educational Foundation, a nonprofit that provides higher education scholarships to disadvantaged youth. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Interactive Media Design from the Art Institute of Portland. 

Alex Lincoln is a creative leader with over 10 years of experience supervising and mentoring creative teams to successfully deliver client visions under demanding deadlines. Alex has extensive experience leading teams in fast-paced studio environments. For more than three years, Alex served as head of the Asset Department at Icon Creative Studio, the largest independently owned animation studio in Canada, with more than 800 artists. Responsibilities included implementation of new tools and pipeline solutions to improve efficiency and quality, hiring and developing department talent, and ensuring strong technical and creative alignment for each project. Alex is known for his excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, along with a strong passion for learning new technologies, refining workflows, and supporting team success. 

Cliff Paulin is an attorney specializing in collective real estate purchases and organization. His solo practice works with clients to determine the best land holding structure and governance for optimal long-term success. His practice also handles a wide variety of rural legal matters as well as providing mediation and facilitation services. He serves as a planning commissioner for Mendocino County, as legal counsel for the Potter Valley Irrigation District, and as president of the Waldorf School of Mendocino County. He holds a Bachelor of Science in environmental science from the University of Arizona and a JD and master’s from Vermont Law School. He loves tending land, contributing to youth development, enjoying live music, and playing in the great outdoors. 

The board of directors oversees the institute’s policies, work program, budget, and investments. In addition to the newly appointed members, the members of the board of directors include Carolina Barco, former ambassador to the US from Colombia; Thomas M. Becker, former president of the Chautauqua Institution; Raphael Bostic, former president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta; Peter Culp, managing partner at Culp & Kelly LLP; Nancy Gibbs, professor of practice and Lombard director at the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government; Charla Griffy-Brown, director general and dean of the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University; Tzuchin Lin, professor in the Department of Land Economics at National Chengchi University; Bruce C. Lincoln, president of Innervizion Surf Company; Kathryn Jo Lincoln, board chair of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy; Rev. Otis Moss III, senior pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago; Thomas Nechyba, professor of economics and public policy studies at Duke University; Kevyn D. Orr, partner with Jones Day; Robert Puentes, president and CEO of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy; and Karen Schaeffer, managing member and cofounder of Schaeffer Financial.
