School Funding Litigation

Over the past 70 years, school finance litigation has been a constant presence in the public discourse about K–12 education in the United States. This paper describes four waves of school finance litigation and discusses research on the impact that school finance litigation has had on state-local revenue mix, spending, and student achievement.
