Lincoln Institute Invests $1 Million in Scholarships for Future Leaders

By Kristina McGeehan, Junio 16, 2025

The Lincoln Institute of Land Policy is investing $1 million in emerging urban leaders around the country with the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy Scholarship—an opportunity for incoming students at Claremont Lincoln University, the university of the Lincoln Institute. Through partial scholarships, this funding will cover 50 percent of the tuition costs for eligible new students enrolling in one of CLU’s online master’s degree programs, bachelor’s degree completion programs, or certificate programs.

“Now is the time to invest in our future—and we see great potential in supporting these students as they begin the next steps in their careers,” said George W. McCarthy, president and CEO of the Lincoln Institute. “As we seek to find solutions to a vast array of social, economic, and environmental issues, it’s crucial that we focus on providing leaders with the skills, knowledge, and tools needed to implement effective land policy on the ground.”

Claremont Lincoln University is an accredited, private non-profit university that offers programs integrating the Lincoln Institute’s research, cases, toolkits, and advanced practices in city planning, municipal finance, and more. Together, CLU and the Lincoln Institute seek to impact a billion people by mobilizing leaders worldwide to tackle pressing public sector challenges and to build and sustain vibrant communities for all. In addition to the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy Scholarship, the Lincoln Institute and CLU also partner on the Lincoln Vibrant Communities initiative, uniquely co-designed bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and skill-packed Advanced Practice Graduate Certificates, where we help leaders take the next step in their careers—empowering them to make positive change in their communities.
