This case study tells the story of the Staying Connected Initiative (SCI), an innovative partnership designed to foster ecological connectivity across sociopolitical, cultural, institutional, and sectoral boundaries in the northeastern part of North America/Turtle Island. (Turtle Island is the name used by many Indigenous peoples of this region for what is commonly known as North America). The initiative aims to sustain a well-connected landscape that supports biodiversity and human communities, addressing a critical need in the face of increasing development and climate change.
