The mission and work of the Lincoln Institute cannot be accomplished by the Lincoln Institute team alone, as the scale of the issues we grapple with requires partnerships across sectors, disciplines, and geographies. We look for opportunities to partner with individuals and organizations, and we encourage interested funders and donors to reach out to the partnerships and business development team. The team can help external partners achieve impact by connecting them with our programs teams, who deploy expertise, knowledge, and cutting-edge tools to meet shared goals.

Types of Partnerships

Partnerships can take many forms, and the Lincoln Institute prioritizes two types:

Strategic Institutional Partnerships

We seek durable and long-term relationships with philanthropies, universities, and private and public sector organizations. Our role in such institutional partnerships varies, but we often serve as managing or implementing partners.

Collaborative Projects

Currently our more common form of engagement, these projects are usually co-developed with partners to pursue common interests in a particular geography or topical area. This work may be funded through grants, donations, fee-for-service agreements, and other mechanisms.

Through both avenues, the Lincoln Institute works in a reciprocal nature with partners, mobilizing a deep bench of land policy experts and working collaboratively as both a sponsor and implementer. We encourage individuals and organizations interested in partnering with us to reach out for more information.
