Lincoln Institute Session at the 2026 IAAO Annual Conference

The annual conference of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) offers state and local assessing officials the opportunity to hear varied perspectives on property tax issues from practitioners and valuation experts. This year, the Lincoln Institute will present a session on Understanding the Property Tax Repeal Movement and Paths to Greater Taxpayer Acceptance.

Many states are facing efforts to limit or even repeal the property tax. This session at the 2026 IAAO Annual Conference in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, will explore the motivations and conditions that fuel these efforts, why the property tax remains an important and appropriate revenue source for funding local services, and policies and practices that can promote acceptance of the property tax.
