Full report coming soon.

This resource by the Lincoln Institute and the Climigration Network offers information and guidance for communities, especially those contending with climate change, about the shared landownership model of community land trusts (CLTs). Whether a community is seeking to build resilience in place or facing relocation due to climate change, the CLT model can help increase and preserve housing affordability while advancing cultural, social, and environmental goals. The guide includes case studies of successful CLTs across the country, including the Lahaina Community Land Trust, Sogorea Te’ Land Trust, Houston Community Land Trust, Dishgamu Humboldt CLT, Champlain Housing Trust, and others. Each chapter includes guiding questions for communities to consider, ranging from practical aspects of CLTslike governance, funding, and site selection—to reflective inquiries about the kinds of decisions communities make, how they make them, and how best to balance safety, affordability, and equity.
