International Land Conservation Network
The International Land Conservation Network (ILCN) advances the conservation and stewardship program by addressing a critical and underserved need: unlocking the potential of private and civic land conservation to contribute to ambitious conservation goals around the globe, to complement Indigenous-led and government-led efforts.
The ILCN builds capacity, catalyzes innovation, and strengthens policy and practice for private and civic land conservation through knowledge exchange and transfer across seven continents. By enabling the effective exchange of global expertise through partnerships and network building, the ILCN equips practitioners, organizations, networks, and their Indigenous and public sector partners with the relationships and information they need to increase the pace, scale, and effectiveness of land conservation.

Large landscape conservation is critical to achieving lasting outcomes for people and places. We build the capacity of networks, organizations, and partnerships to collaborate, coordinate, and align more effectively to support large-scale, long-term conservation initiatives and raise recognition about the importance of strategically significant landscape-scale conservation initiatives. Core activities include focused workshops and convenings, development of geospatial and data tools or services, and the design and delivery of in-person and online courses and training.
Data, Research, and Visualization
Conservation decision-makers need accessible, actionable information and decision-support tools. Through timely and relevant thought leadership and knowledge products such as publications, databases, and interactive maps and visualizations, we equip practitioners, policymakers, and decision-makers with practical research, insights, recommendations, and tools for improving conservation and stewardship outcomes.
Mapping and Monitoring Wetlands Conversion
Wetlands are facing unprecedented challenges in the United States due to shifting federal policies and regulatory frameworks. We address critical information gaps and explore improvements to the availability and usability of data relating to the extent, condition, and governance of these ecosystems. Through AI-informed geospatial and policy analyses, we provide conservation practitioners and decision-makers with clearer, more current data and policy insights to advance wetlands protection across the country and globally.
