Jon Gorey is a staff writer at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, where he connects readers with the Institute’s research and explores how land policy can help solve some of the world’s most pressing social, economic, and environmental problems. An award-winning freelancer, he has written extensively about housing, travel, and other subjects, most frequently for the Boston Globe. He’s also held communications roles at major media outlets and nonprofits, including MSN Money and WGBH, and is the author of Home Buying 101, published by Simon & Schuster. He’s received more than a dozen awards from the National Association of Real Estate Editors (NAREE), including the President’s Gold Award for Best Freelance Collection in 2019. He’s a graduate of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
