There are two new additions at the Lincoln Institute Web site, in the growing Resources and Tools section. Regional Collaboration: Stewardship Across Boundaries, a product of a joint venture of the Department of Planning and Urban Form and the Public Policy Research Institute at the University of Montana, grew out of a recognition that today’s most compelling land use, natural resource, and environmental issues—such as climate change, land use, water allocation, and landscape conservation—require people and institutions to work across jurisdictional lines and other boundaries. The new site is a guide for planners, citizens, elected officials and others on how multiple jurisdictions, sectors, and disciplines can work across boundaries on issues of common concern.
University Real Estate Development, produced in a partnership of the Department of Economic and Community Development and the University of Baltimore, recognizes the increased role of universities in urban settings as major employers, generators of economic development, and key contributors to the knowledge economy, and the real estate development these institutions often engage in. This Web-based resource provides a database of nearly 800 colleges and universities in metropolitan areas across the country, for research and analysis of specific land policies in local property markets. The database is free and accessible to researchers, university leadership, private developers, and public agency planners.
Lincoln Institute president Gregory K. Ingram said the additions reflected a continuing effort to put more data and resources at www.lincolninst.edu. More information is here.
