Collection of Personal Data
We do not automatically log personal data; you can browse our web site without disclosing your personal data. We collect personal data that you may volunteer while using our services, such as ordering a publication or downloading a free working paper. When authorized by you, we use personal data for the additional purposes of:
- Land Lines magazine mailings, in either paper or electronic formats
- marketing mailings for courses, publications and other Lincoln Institute activities, in either paper or electronic formats
- occasional mailings for Lincoln Institute activities cosponsored with other educational organizations
Type of Data Collected
All personal data collected is volunteered by each visitor when creating a profile, downloading a working paper or during the registration/order checkout process. We collect your name, address, employer/organization, job title and email address for Customer Administration and Marketing (if you choose to receive Lincoln materials), and your phone number solely for Customer Administration. Also, if you purchase a publication or register for a fee-based course on our site, we collect your credit card information.
Confidentiality and Sharing
The Lincoln Institute occasionally exchanges mailing lists with selected organizations working in related fields of land and tax policy. If you have chosen to receive materials from the Lincoln Institute, you will also occasionally receive materials from these organizations. You may opt-out of receiving these non-Lincoln materials by opting-out of receiving Lincoln materials in the following way:
