The Conservation Fund

The Fund works with government agencies, corporations, foundations and willing landowners to protect the nation's outdoor heritage - wildlife habitat, forestlands, recreation areas, open spaces, working landscapes and historic places. Since 1985, the Fund and its partners have protected more than 3.4 million acres of America's Land Legacy including national parks and monuments, wildlife refuges, state natural areas, greenways and trails and privately owned lands. The Fund provides a comprehensive range of conservation services to a diverse clientele including government agencies, corporations, foundations, nonprofit organizations, and individuals. From land identification and acquisition to mitigation and disposition to land advisory and training, the Fund's services are designed to offer turnkey solutions to meet partners' needs.

National Audubon Society

The Trust for Public Lands

National nonprofit that works to protect land for human enjoyment and well-being. TPL helps conserve land for recreation and spiritual nourishment and to improve the health and quality of life of American communities. TPL's legal and real estate specialists work with landowners, government agencies, and community groups to: create urban parks, gardens, greenways, and riverways; build livable communities by setting aside open space in the path of growth; conserve land for watershed protection, scenic beauty, and close-to-home recreation; safeguard the character of communities by preserving historic landmarks and landscapes. Site has information on a variety of national programs: The Green City Initiative; Center for Land & People; Conservation Finance; Greenprint for Growth, Tribal Lands Program; and a variety of local and regional programs.
American Farmland Trust

Works to stop the loss of productive farmland and to promote environmentally sound farming practices by empowering communities to plan and effect conservation, by developing public policy at the state and national level, by engaging the public through educational resources, by working with landowners through land protection projects and consultations.
