Brookings Institution - Center on Urban and Metropolitan Policy

Seeks to shape a new generation of urban policies that will help build strong neighborhoods, cities, and metropolitan regions. In partnership with academics, private and public sector leaders, and locally-elected officials, informs about the impact of government policies, private sector actions, and national trends on cities and their metropolitan areas. Provides full reports, works in progress, and speeches on the site.
Center for Urban Policy Research (CUPR)

Provides research, projects and publications in the areas of affordable housing, land use policy, the arts and cultural policy, development impact analysis, the costs of sprawl, transportation information systems, environmental impacts, and community economic development. Developed a wide array of fiscal, environmental, transportation, and quality of life impact models that have been used in major public policy evaluations throughout the United States.

Provides searchable database of publications, courses and bimonthly newsletter. The Lincoln Institute's goals are to integrate theory and practice to better shape land policy and to share understanding about the multidisciplinary forces that influence public policy. Does not take a particular point of view, but rather serves as a catalyst to facilitate analysis and discussion of these issues-to make a difference today and to help policy makers plan for tomorrow. Contains three departments - Valuation and Taxation, Planning and Development, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
