The book compiles a set of case studies from 17 universities across the United States. It will be published in Spring 2005 by M.E. Sharpe in cooperation with the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy.

It is also a collaboration with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP). The book is a collection of case studies about university participation in smart growth planning and community projects.
