Summary of Results
This article presents the main results of a survey on the property tax, based on data collected through September 2008. This survey is now being conducted in Latin America and funded by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. The study evaluates the main characteristics of the tax in various jurisdictions in Latin America, including its principal provisions, administrative aspects and importance of the tax as a source of revenue.
