Future Challenges of Sustainable Land Use in Taiwan PDF 170 KB

Abstract

When we talk about issues related to sustainable environments, there are two important questions to consider: What is a sustainable environment?, and What is the purpose of having a sustainable environment? The purpose of achieving a sustainable environment is not just for achieving it, per se. We can talk about a sustainable environment for the whole universe, the whole Earth, a region, a nation, a city, a rural area, or a small locality? When we talk about the relationship between the emission of CO2 and global warming, rising sea levels, and climate change, for example, we are concerned about the sustainable environment for the Earth. I will concentrate on issues related to a sustainable environment in Taiwan.
