Start Date:
End Date: December 2002

Researchers
Gerrit Knaap National Center for Smart Growth Research and Education, University of Maryland

Description
Analysis of urban development patterns for 5-8 metropolitan areas, using detailed GIS data. The research will be descriptive (concerned with changes in urban form over the last 20 years) and analytical (attempting to isolate possible policy and regulatory effects). The work will be used to advance efforts to establish a demonstration project on the development and use of an integrated GIS-based regional land monitoring system.
