Description
The main objective of this study is to explore the economics of the generation of land use regulation. We will explore the characteristics of the Argentinean municipalities that are related to the existence of certain key aspects of regulation (e.g., infrastructure provision, access-to-land and redistribution-related elements). The study also discusses how we aim to improve our previous research on the effect of regulation on tenure informality. Our new sources of data will include an improvement and extension of our Regulation Survey to Planning Directors, and important use of GIS and satellite technology (e.g., to measure developable and vacant land) and the building and analysis of segregation indicators.

El principal objetivo de esta investigación es explorar la economía de la producción de regulación del uso del suelo. Examinaremos las características de las municipalidades argentinas que están relacionas con ciertos aspectos importantes de la regulación (por ejemplo, dotación de infraestructura, acceso al suelo, y elementos redistributivos). La investigación también describe como esperamos mejorar nuestra investigación anterior sobre el efecto de la regulación en informalidad de tenencia. Nuestras fuentes de datos incluirán una Encuesta sobre Regulación a Directores de Planificación más extensa y mejorada. Incluirá también el uso intensivo de SIG y tecnología satelital (por ejemplo, para medir parcelas apropiadas para desarrollo y parcelas vacantes) e indicadores de construcción y de segregación.
